I
seriously have some whacked housemates! Seriously! I seriously need to tell you
how amazingly crazy they are!
So
in one block there’s four houses connected to each other and the wall is so
thin you could actually hear their ringing alarm clocks. In every house there
would be about twenty tenants, four rooms, two bathrooms, six bedrooms and one
long living room. Four of those rooms will hold four tenants and the other two
will hold two tenants.
I
was roomed with another three girls.
On
my first day moving in with Jo (she’s is a girl) we knew we were housed
together along with seven of our other friends the other thirteen however was a
total mystery (at least to me).
Moving
in the first familiar face we saw was Fasha. She’s from JB and came a day
earlier than we did (we had to take a plane unless someone wants to invent a
high speed submarine) and she was lucky enough to get a room that only sleeps
two people and no bunk bed! This was even made better when Jo ended up as her
roommate who left me with a room of strangers. At least I thought it did.
I
moved in with three beds already turned and covered with a bed spread which
left me with the only upper bunked bed *gulp*.
I
know everyone wants the upper bunk because it’s freaking amazing but I wasn't going to sleep in it. Hey, I’m not afraid of heights or falling I was afraid I
was going to kill my lower bunk mate No matter how much I weight (I admit I
have ‘curves’).
Anyway,
each room was properly assigned according to our names and it was prohibited to
switch (well at least for the first month). It looked like one of my roommates
got the wrong room and had to switch to her original room. Thankfully left me
with the lower bunk!! Yeay!! I jumped for joy (at least inside my head I did).
I was then left to unpack and get my bed ready (I was thankful we decided to
get our things from the old dorm).
One
of my new roommates (who got the last upper bunk) who just recently moved in started
to unpack with me. Let me tell you, it was a chorus of awkward smiles and nods.
When I was done I walked out of the room and went to crash in my friend’s room.
A big relief!!
So
anyway, as time passed by I started to get into gear with everyday classes. I
also found out that my lower bunk mate Nad reminds me of someone but I have no
idea who. So I guess I started to create a bond with her per say. It took a
little longer for my other two roomies but once you get to know them they’re
both crazy people. They make life more dramatic and it’s good to have some
drama in life.
My
housemates are the loudest and wackiest people on earth and it doesn't help
either that we live in Block G which indicates how crazy we are in the Malay
term. Where are you going to find a house filled with noisy people from 10
o’clock at night till 5 o’clock in the morning? Nowhere but here. We seldom see
each other in the morning or even on campus because we have different classes
and schedule but when we’re all in the house it turns into the loudest comedy
convention.
We’re
loud, dramatic, and talkative. We may not be the ideal clean home of the
century but we’re the ideal family; or as they put it GANG. We come from
different backgrounds and we may not be blood related family but we are a
family in our own eyes.
So
thank you girls. Thank you for giving me a home away from home.
I
have to get going because I hear something moving out back and no one is here
with me!! Help!!
Till
next time readers.
